Dr. Terry Dorn

Behind the Author
Dr. Dorn was born in Ankara, Turkey and as the son of an Air Force Chief Master Sergeant, he traveled worldwide and eventually attended college in Nebraska, where he earned two Baccalaureate of Art degrees in Business Administration and Sociology from Bellevue College, which was later reaccredited as a University.
Dr. Dorn joined the Army in 1985, excelled in the Army’s Air Defense branch, and deployed seven times to various combat zones. Two noteworthy assignments included serving as a speechwriter to the Chief of Staff of the Army and military assistant to the Secretary of Defense. In 2013, he was inducted into the Army Officer Candidate School Hall of Fame and retired in 2014.
While serving the nation as an Army officer, Dr. Dorn earned a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from Boston University and a Master of Science degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College. In 2020, he completed his Ph.D. from Northcentral University in Business Administration. His area of specialization was in Homeland Security, and his dissertation was titled, A Phenomenological Study Examining the Vulnerabilities of U.S. Nuclear Power Plants to Attack by Unmanned Aerial Systems.
Dr. Dorn has authored Quotes: the Famous and Not So Famous; Unmanned Systems: Savior or Threat; and U.S. Critical Infrastructure: Its Importance and Vulnerabilities to Cyber and Unmanned Systems. He is currently writing, The Revolution No-One Saw Coming. In addition, Dr. Dorn wrote, Countering the Threat Posed by Unmanned Systems Armed with Weapons of Mass Destruction, while working at the Department of Homeland Security, as well as a strategy implementation plan to turn that strategy into reality.
Dr. Dorn’s civilian honors include induction into the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, Alpha Phi Sigma, Iota Pi; the National Society of Leadership and Success, Sigma Alpha Pi; and the International Business Honor Society, Delta Mu Delta.
Dr. Dorn is married to the former Nicole Holda, a retired Army Major who served in the Military Intelligence Corps for over two decades. They have two sons, Alan and Calvin, attending Virginia Commonwealth University and George Mason University.
